Martha Washington Suite
Enjoy a night in a suite named for the wife of our country’s first president. The Martha Washington is for those of us that require a little more space. Some of the rooms are equipped with king size or two full size beds. The experience will take you back to old eighteenth century Virginia. However, nestled among the Colonial Virginia style furnishings are the modern appliances required for your comfort and convenience. The suite has a microwave, a refrigerator and the bath even includes a walk-in tub like those seen on TV. All resident rooms at the Dolley Madison House are individually air conditioned and exit directly onto to an open air porch where one will find an old fashioned rocker or a glider. The furniture is hand made by local Amish cabinetmakers, which helps to maintain an antique appearance. Most of the beds are queen or king size and have an old fashioned quilt.
